Am
I allowed to run an IRC-bot like eggdrop?
No. As stated in our policies. You can view the policies on our main website.
As a general rule we do not allow background running programs. We may
allow programs to run continually in the background , these are considered
on a one to one basis and an extra charge will be incurred based on system
resources used and operational maintenance needed. We currently do not
allow you to link to or use IRC or IRC bots such as eggdrop, and BitchX
on our servers.
Am
I allowed to install a chat room on the servers?
No, we only allow you to have chat rooms that are not located on the server.
There are many of these available on the web, which you can find by doing
a search on a search engine. Again, if you place a chat room directly
on our server, meaning: the chat room applet, cgi, BOT, or IRC is on our
server your site will be suspended without notice.
What
happens if I'm caught spamming?
If you are caught spamming you will be fined per incident and your account
will be suspended. You will not be eligable for a refund and severe offenseswill
prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Spamming is a serious matter
with very serious consequences.
What
is the Burningbulb policy in regards to a message board?
You can have a message board on the Burningbulb servers. However, if your
BBS is poorly written ,most are, and the script begins to harm the server
we will have to disable the script. So if you are planning on having the
worlds largets BBS on Purple Elephants, and you think you will be getting
thousands of posts per day... place the script on another server
What
will happen if a client using my account gets caught spamming?
If you are going to take the risk of allowing users on to your domain
or account then you are also going to take on the liability for what they
do. 99% of hosts will also have this policy
I
am under 18. Can I get a hosting account?
No, you must have someone over 18 sign up for you, after you turn 18,
then we can change the account over to you.
How
much traffic am I allowed per month?
Traffic per month depends on the type of account you have. Smaller accounts
usually have a smaller traffic allocation where as bigger accounts usually
have a larger one.
What
will happen if I go over my allowed traffic amount per month?
If you exceed your maximum allowed traffic amount in a months time your
account will be billed $10.00 per extra gigabyte of traffic you use. The
additional charges will appear on your monthly invoice and credit card
statement.
I'm
trying to understand how much transfer I have per month. Can you explain
it?
Usually 1 gigabyte of traffic amounts to somewhere around 1,000,000 hits.
This depends on a lot of different factors but if you would like a comparision
check to see how much transfer you have and compare that to the number
of hits you receive per day.
Can
I host a legal gambling website with gambling links on the Burningbulb
servers?
Yes. As long as it is legal to do so in our jurisdiction
Can
I create a fee greeting card option using your features?
Yes you can.
If
I signed up for a hosting account will you submit my site to a search
engine?
No. We do not offer site submission with our hosting account. However,
we do offer this service. For more information please contact the Burningbulb
Sales Department.
Can
I place an adult oriented banner on my site?
No. All adult content is strictly prohibited from any Burningbulb server.
